Transparent Replacement Shell for Super Famicom SFC & PAL SNES

The BitFunx transparent replacement shell is a precision 1:1 replica of the original Super Famicom housing, built for the Japanese NTSC-J SHVC and European PAL SNSP console families. Made from premium semi-transparent ABS plastic, it eliminates the yellowing, cracking, and fading common to 30+ year-old original shells, while giving any SFC or PAL SNES a clean, modern aesthetic. This is the preferred shell upgrade for collectors, retro modders, and anyone running RGB, IPS, or RGB bypass mods who wants the internal work visible.

⚠️ IMPORTANT — SHELL ONLY:
The console, PCBA board, cartridges, controllers, and all electronics are NOT included. You will need to transfer the controller ports, power button, reset button, and the I/O rear panel from your original console to the new shell. The BitFunx shell includes a compatible replacement rear I/O panel for the SFC form factor, so no gap or mismatch occurs during assembly. Two screwdrivers are included in the box for the full installation.​

How to identify your board revision:
Remove the bottom panel of your Super Famicom or PAL SNES (requires 4.5mm gamebit screwdriver), lift the motherboard, and look for the revision code printed directly on the PCB. Match it to one of the 13 models above before ordering.​

⚠️ Critical Compatibility Warning — North American SNS-001 Board:
The North American SNES SNS-001 board is NOT compatible with this Super Famicom shell due to differences in the rear I/O panel layout and internal chassis geometry. ⚠️ Standoff Warning — TRN Purple and TRN White Variants:
On some board revisions, the TRN Purple and TRN White shell variants may have standoffs (internal plastic posts) that interfere with the motherboard, preventing full assembly closure. If you encounter this issue, remove the obstructing standoff as shown in the diagram included in the product box. This is a known and documented variation and does not affect the structural integrity of the assembled shell. The TRN Black variant does not present this issue on the same boards.​

Region-Free Cartridge Slot:
Unlike the original Super Famicom shell — which physically blocks North American SNES cartridges — the BitFunx replacement features a fully region-free slot opening compatible with:

• North American SNES cartridges (NTSC-U/C)
• Japanese Super Famicom cartridges (NTSC-J)
• European PAL SNES cartridges (EU)
• Flash cards (Everdrive, SD2SNES, and similar)

This eliminates the need for region adapters or cartridge slot modifications for collectors with multi-region libraries.
